2009 is the fifth anniversary of the launch of World of Warcraft on November 23, 2004. As a part of celebration, weekly prizes are given out to players as a way to say "thanks" for being a part of the WOW community in the past five years.
Each week's winners are randomly selected from a different group of a accounts based on how long they have been playing the game. Winners for the first week got a World of Warcraft of the Great Dragonflights stein courtesy of that week's sponsor, Taverncraft. Winners for the second week got a pair of gaming glasses courtesy of that week's sponsor, Gunnar Optiks. Winners for the third week got an NVIDIA? GeForce? GTS 250 graphics card by ASUS courtesy of this week's sponsor, NVIDIA.
